This article aims to discuss the fundamentals that can support the development of a scientific tourism line in Golegã. Starting from a theoretical-conceptual framework that relates territory, competitiveness and territorial cohesion, tourism and public policy, the article presents four new concepts: perfect resources, territorial coherence, economic and territorial singularities. Scientific tourism is still a line of tourism little explored, both in Portugal and internationally. However, now there are very favorable conditions for discussing this issue, particularly in politico-institutional terms. The case study concerns the Golegã, where the hypothesis of a scientific tourism line is based on the articulation of a set of resources with the necessary construction of a territorial coherence process associated.
