The sustainability of urban tourism (STU) is a paradigm full of challenges and opportunities for both market demand and supply. This research area has been analyzed under several domains, so the objective of this work is to carry out a systematic review of the literature on STU, to understand how the urban tourism offer has been investigated in this domain. The methodology of the study carried out comprises a descriptive and content analysis of investigations from STU's Scopus database. The results of this study point to a wide variety of methodologies and contributions developed by the researchers, as they point to a multiplicity of areas that are part of the STU, with emphasis on planning, the capacity of the urban territory, technologies and transport, such as areas which studies most identify and analyze. Research gaps that can and should be filled by future studies are also presented.
