Microproduções Agrícolas e Desenvolvimento Sustentável em Regiões Periféricas

The socio-economic context and the agricultural activity developed in Douro Internacional Natural Park (Portugal) and Arribes del Duero Natural Park (Spain) territory are the start point to our study about the potential contribute of small and traditional agriculture for sustainable development of rural and peripheral territories. The reflection is contextualized by the presentation of a several generically elements that explain the interest of traditional products, as a tool of rural development. In this study we discuss the main potentiality and weakness of the local and traditional productions. This article finish by presenting some aspects that are important for typical agro food products to make a sustainable development instrument of rural territories.
