Avaliação Contingente para Analisar a Vontade de Pagar dos Habitantes do Huambo

Abstract

The water supply system of the City of Huambo is severely degraded due to thirty years of civil war in Angola. The objective of this article is to estimate the willingness to pay of the Huambo residents for the improvement of the water supply system of the city. To achieve that it is used the contingent valuation methodology with a survey questionnaire applied to three hundred households in Huambo city area. This allows the estimation of the water demand function for Huambo residents and also the calculation of the excluded households for each level of water prices.
