“Immigration, Regional Development and Labor Market – The Portuguese Case” This paper seeks to explore the impact of the immigrants in the portuguese economy in the degree to each demographic, social but mainly the economic aspects differ according to nationalities. As immigrants communities are very heterogeneous, associated to their nationalities, it is possible to identify different socioeconomic profiles and forms of integration in the labor market. The work is also about analysing some relationships between the immigration destination regions, its sectorial specialization, the functioning of labor markets and regional development.
