This article aims at analyzing the contribution of the Interpretation of heritage for the development of Creative Tourism, in the territory of the Rooster of Barcelos. In this sense, it is argued that the Interpretation performed according to the explanatory model of the process of development and implementation of Creative Tourism contributes to the quality of Tourism as a tool for regional development in the territory of Barcelos. In the scope of the scientific research methodology, qualitative and quantitative methods were used, namely interviews with subjects related to Tourism in this territory, and questionnaire surveys to its visitors, as well as a review of the literature and an analysis of relevant documents for this study. This model presents an innovation by developing a "productive process of co-creation", in which the Interpretation of heritage contributes to the quality of tourism experiences, thus satisfying a need confirmed by 98.9% of the interviewed visitors, within the scope of this study. It is concluded, therefore, that the Interpretation of the heritage presents itself as a determining factor for the development and the implementation of Creative Tourism, in the territory of Barcelos.
