Abstract

The competitiveness of private golf courses is a crucial issue to their survival as businesses. The Algarve is the most important Portuguese golf resort area, and its competitiveness with Spain, North Africa and America becomes, day after day, more important. The competitiveness of golf is from the perspective of the golf course business, looking for ratios of efficiency, quality and profitability. It was concluded that golf is an efficient and competitive industry with or without tourism.
