Astroturismo: A Imagem e a Intenção de Visita em Territórios de Baixa Densidade. O Caso do Norte Interior de Portugal

Resumo

Este estudo exploratório pretende perceber como potenciais visitantes constroem a imagem de um destino de astroturismo e valorizam os principais componentes da experiência astroturística. Foram inquiridos 450 residentes em Espanha, segmentados de acordo com a importância atribuída àqueles componentes, de modo a verificar diferenças nas perceções da imagem, no comportamento passado de observação do céu noturno e na intenção futura de visitar um destino de astroturismo. Os resultados permitem concluir que a propensão para concretizar a visita está associada a elementos culturais e de enriquecimento da observação celeste, os quais devem ser considerados para além dos elementos de escuridão e silêncio, fundamentais nesta experiência.
